Blizzard is a 15 year old Appaloosa gelding who was purchased by our rescue in 2015 after seeing this beautiful, horribly lame horse being used as a lesson horse. When we brought him home and had our veterinarian examine him , we found that he had an old suspensory ligament injury that had gone untreated so long that his other foot had become so damaged by holding all his weight on it. We have been able to treat his lameness with corrective shoeing and anti-inflammatory medication. 5 years later, Blizzard is happy and healthy. He is not cured of his lameness but he is comfortable and lives without pain. Blizzard has a home for life here at Wild at Heart.
